Sister Pop Up Card

Hello friends! I hope everyone is doing well.  Can you believe it has started snowing in parts of the US already?  Sorry I haven't had time to create anything in the past month.  We went on vacation to MO to see my son and his family that are Missionaries to Argentina.  They are allowed to come back to US once a year; so we were able to meet them there and spend some quality time with them.

Within a few days of arriving home from MO on November 5th; the fires started in Southern CA; so we were in the middle of that mess.  My heart goes out to all of those people who lost their homes, the families who lost loved ones and so much loss for everyone.  We had to leave our home for one day; due to the smoke coming inside our house; but other than that; we were very lucky and did not have to evacuate.

My step-son and his mother were evacuated in the middle of the night and he stayed with us for 3 days; waiting to hear when they could go back home.  They were very lucky as well; as the fire was behind them on the mountain; several feet from their property.  It was a very stressful time; because we thought we were going to have to evacuate too.

We had a wonderful opportunity in MO to go wedding dress shopping with my 18 yr. old granddaughter, Kiley; who is moving back to the states from Argentina.  It was so much fun and we really enjoyed it.  She will be a gorgeous bride next year when she gets married. My son and his wife will be returning to Argentina as Missionaries on their own, without their children; so that is stressful for them right now.  They are still having challenges learning the language after two years of living there and taking many classes.  It is always harder to learn a new language when you are an adult.  Kiley learned it very quickly and has been their interpreter for part of these past two years.

I created this card back in June; but haven't had time to post it.  I love having card kits and being able to mix and match things to create a card that I love.  Sometimes that is what you need when you have to make a quick card.  I also love coloring digis and creating everything from scratch; even though it takes a lot more time.

I used Anna Griffin Pretty Pop Ups Card Kit to create this card for my sister Becky, for her birthday last August.  It still takes me time even when using a kit; because I am very picky and want my creations to be a certain way.  LOL!
