Hello Friends. Happy New Year 2014 to you and your families. 2014 is the year of the horse (Chinese culture); so I thought I would use this picture I found on the Internet. It also reminded me of card making/scrapbooking. LOL! I hope everyone is having a fabulous New Year. Some of you have already celebrated New Year's and others aren't quite there yet. We still have approx. 5 more hours till midnight.
Here is hoping all of us will have a fabulous and prosperous New Year; including good health, joy, peace, contentment, adventure, fun, happiness, love, trust and see many dreams come true. I thought I would share my favorite card creations this year. I had more favorites than I thought; so I narrowed it down to my top 17. LOL. Hi fellow crafters. It is almost the end of another year. Tomorrow is Christmas and only a few days left in the year. I can't believe how fast this year has gone. We have had excellent weather in Southern CA. I feel very blessed to have warm weather when others are feeling the cold and lots of snow and/or ice.
I was late getting my Christmas cards sent this year. I couldn't quite seem to get my cards created fast enough. I created 22 cards and sent 40. I had to use store bought cards for a lot of people; but I guess that can't be helped when you have so many people to send to each year. I plan to start earlier for next Christmas. My creativity was very sporadic the past few months due to not feeling well most of the time. I am hoping I will feel better in 2014.
I used the CTMH Frosted Cardmaking Kit to create 15 of my Christmas cards. It is still available until Jan. 31st or while supplies last. It is listed under Shop, under the retiring items at the bottom of the page on the left side on my Close To My Heart website at http://purpleglocreations.ctmh.com. If you are reading this blog after Jan. 1st; be sure to click on the "Join" button for January orders. If it says "Leave"; then it is already clicked. This is how I am able to give free prizes to my customers and followers.
There are three card designs in this Frosted Cardmaking Kit; with 5 of each one; making 15 cards. The cards, envelopes, paper and embellishments are all included. All you need is adhesive and foam if you want to raise the layers. I normally change them up a little; but the last card is the only one I changed. I followed the directions this time. LOL!

I forgot to take the pictures of the set of 5 before mailing them; but this card kit comes with 5 of each of these 3 cards. Also, I changed the Kraft piece of cardstock and used red and embossed it; because I didn't like the Kraft cardstock on this card.
I changed the Kraft piece on the Merry & Bright card to a piece of CTMH Ruby cardstock and embossed it with Sizzix Snow Globe embossing folder. (It looks like Holly to me; but that is what it is called.)

Hello to all my wonderful fellow bloggers/crafters. I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season no matter what it is that you celebrate. I love the song that says "It's a wonderful time of the year." I feel that way this time of the year. I celebrate Christmas and New Years Day; but we also celebrate "Chinese New Year" on Friday, Jan. 31st as well. The date for Chinese New Year changes each year and it is earlier in 2014. I find I feel more gratitude at this time of year. We are all very blessed despite any problems or concerns we might have from day to day. We can always find someone that has a worse story than we do. I love being able to give to family and friends this time of the year. It is a wonderful feeling to see a child open a gift; but it is also important to remember those who don't have anything or who have lost so much this past year. I feel I give a piece of myself when I create a card and give it to someone. I have been creating for the challenges at Lacy Sunshine; as it is one of my new favorites. I love their digital stamps and you get a new one free each challenge when you use their digital stamps for the previous challenge. They are so adorable! I realized after creating this card that it might have looked better if I had added the blue cardstock under the extra layers so you could see them easier; but I find the space I am working with is usually not big enough for what I want to do. I guess I work and create too big. LOL! It is hard for me to color the Digi stamps if they are too small. I also combined a sketch from Your Next Stamp.com challenge and The House That Stamps Built. See links below. I liked this one and saw it on another blog; so decided to use it for this card. I hope you can see all the different pretty designs that are in this paper pack.
