Sympathy Card Using Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge

Hi all you wonderful fellow crafters.  I hope everyone is having a fabulous week!  I know it is very cold in a lot of places; and I feel badly for the people who are experiencing such cold and wet weather.  It sleeted, snowed and then rained with a thunderstorm all within a few days of each other in MO at my mom's house.  Weird weather.

We are having spring weather here in Southern CA with a little cooler in the evening's; but perfect weather.  It is usually a lot cooler and raining by now.  I am not complaining.  My mom usually comes here in January; but she wasn't able to this year; due to her health problems.  She turned 80 yrs. old in Sept. and hasn't been feeling good.  I am still hopeful she can come out later in the year before it gets too hot.

I created this card in November; when my sister-in-law passed away; but I hadn't posted it yet.  The only card I have created this year so far was for a friend's birthday from a card kit I had.   I need to get my crafting Mojo back.  I think when we take a break; just like with a vacation; it is harder to get started again sometimes.  This card was for one of my nephews; so I was trying to make it manly.  It is prettier in person with a shiny metallic finish from the embossing powder.

Supplies used to create this card:

Die cuts - Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge

Sympathy Card Using Cricut Art Philosophy and CTMH Laughing Lola Paper

Hi to all my fellow crafters.  I hope you are having a good fall/winter.  It is still in the 80's here in Southern CA.  I am glad it has cooled down at night and early morning.  We are very lucky here to have such fabulous weather most of the year.

I am so sad for all those people in the Philippines.  It is so hard to see the devastation of the effects for the Typhoon.  It really  makes me even more grateful for all we have here in the United States.  I know we have earthquakes, hurricanes, fires and tornadoes; but I think we are very blessed in our country.  I hope everyone that can will donate to help these people.  My biggest concern is that the U.S. hasn't been able to get over there with the donations.  I hope they are able to do this very soon before more people starve to death or die from injuries.

We had another death in our family a couple weeks ago.  My brother in law lost his uncle a couple weeks after my sister in law passed away.  I just sent the sympathy card I created for them.  I found this little stamp at Michael's and just had to have it.   I was going to color it; but decided it looked good with the black ink since it matched the black in the card so well.  I did create the snow on the branches so they would stand out more.  This card isn't quite this dark looking.  The colors are brighter than this; but it is the best I could do with the pictures.  You can click on the pictures and maybe see a better close up view of them.

Birthday Card for Male - Using CTMH Avonlea Paper

Hi all you beautiful crafters out there!!  It's really hot here in Southern CA; so I have been staying inside trying to stay cool.  We had a few earthquakes here a couple days ago; which is always a frightening experience to me.  I wasn't living here when they had the last big one; but seeing it on TV was enough to know I didn't want to be here when one hits.  Now - I'm living here and where do you go?  It isn't like a hurricane that you have advanced notice and can outrun; which I use to do when I lived in Florida.  Every area has it's fear factor.  We need to have faith and trust everything will work out the way it is supposed to work out.

I missed Mojo Monday last week.  I don't know how I forgot it; but I did.  I created a birthday card for my son; which was more difficult than I thought it would be.  Trying to find that many layers of coordinating paper can be a challenge.  Plus; trying to figure out what to use for sentiments to fit that person.   He is a dog lover; so I went with using A Bowwow stamp set on the outside.   My coloring for the dog wasn't what I wanted; but it was all I had in brown colors.

Inside card - Used retired set for the Smile sentiment.  (CTMH "Wonderful You") and CTMH "4 My Friend" for Happy Birthday sentiment.

Supplies Used For This Card:

Birthday Card Using Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge

Hi to all my followers, fellow crafters and readers.  It was a busy and hot weekend here in Southern CA.  I found some free time to finish a couple cards I had started several weeks ago.  My favorite one is this birthday card; which uses my Bugaboo Silhouette Butterfly and Flowers digital stamp.  I love their stamps; especially the silhouettes.  I love black and white cards.  I think they look so elegant.

I used my Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge to cut the base at 5 inches.  I also used the font layer to cut the beautiful doily type cuts.  I completed the inside with the same type of cut.

Inside using two different CTMH stamp sets. The left side is from CTMH "Hooray Bouquet" and on the right is from CTMH "4 My Friend" stamp sets.

Closer view of the left side.
