Hi all you wonderful crafters and followers. I hope you are having a great day. It has cooled off a little for a few days in Southern California; so I am trying to enjoy the weather. It will be hot again in a few days. I am recovering from my bicycle wreck and actually rode my bike again today. My knee is still stiff and I have a bruise halfway down my leg; but it is getting better. I had to get back on my bike again or allow the fear to get the better of me.
I created a card for a child in the Shriner's Children's Hospital. A little 10 yr. old boy is collecting handmade cards to deliver to the Shriner's Children's Hospital in September. He is asking anyone who is willing to create cards to send them to him by Sept. 8, 2012. For more information, visit http://www.heartmadelife.com/selflessness/ where you will find a note from his mom, a note from him with pictures and his request. It is a very touching story about a little boy who has overcome his own birth defects and wants to help other children.
I was so impressed that I decided to contribute to his cause. Check it out if you have time. There are instructions on what to create, no embellishments, glitter, etc due to these going to small children. That is why I have no embellishments on my card and no foam tape where the item could be pulled off. I already created this card before I read that they would like more encouragement cards; but hopefully this will work. I think it turned out very cute.

The free little girl is a digital stamp from Bodilsscrapeverden blogspot. Isn't she adorable? I love the digi stamps that are already colored. Makes it quick and easy to use them. The turtle is a free digi stamp from Birdscards.com. I used the sketch from Mojo Monday 255.
