Thinking Of You Card using Art by Miran Lovely Lani image

Hello friends!  What is going on in your life right now?   I am still trying to play catch up with making my DT cards.  I have to admit that I did create two extras outside the normal ones due; so I guess I am not doing too bad.  I just need to catch up with the regular ones that are due before their due dates.  I like to have them finished at least a week or more ahead of time; preferably a month early. That way I don't feel stressed; especially if I don't feel well.

I fell in love with this and all the other New Art by Miran digi stamps that just came out in October.  This link is for all the new 2016 digi stamps.  Be sure to check out all the others as well.  Mi Ran is so talented.  I have to have all of her digis.  I just need to feel better; so that I can create up a storm. LOL!  This one was named after a dear friend of mine, named Lani.  She lives in Hawaii.  I just got a text from Lani and she loved it!

It's time for another Art by Miran Challenge 71 on her blog.  I love being part of this awesome team.  Here is the link for Art by Miran Etsy store.

Birthday Card Using CTMH Balloon Paper and Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge

Hello.  I hope everyone reading this is having a good 2014 so far.  I heard that a lot of people are still having snow this month.  I am so sorry that Spring hasn't started for everyone.  I hope it comes soon to everyone in USA or wherever you may live.  I can't keep up with the weather in other country's. It is hard enough to keep up with the different weather across USA.  We have had a few cool and windy days here in Southern CA; but nothing to complain about.

We have been having a lot of earthquakes this past few weeks in Southern CA.  I have felt several of them; but nothing compare to the ones in Chile.  I hope they go away soon.  I have heard that earthquakes were caused by excess energy.  I guess it has to go somewhere; but it is very frightening to me.  I grew up in MO and FL; so I am more familiar with tornadoes and hurricanes.  I don't like any of them; but you don't have a warning for earthquakes.

Let's change the subject to something a lot more fun.  You have one more week to join the wonderful challenge at Digi Stamps 4 Joy  - Challenge 89 - Wings.  I love everything with wings; even bats. LOL!  I grew up with bats around; so I think I outgrew my fear of them.  That might change if I had to deal with them every day.   Remember; if you use a DS4J digital stamp; you are eligible for the main prize.

I created a shaped Easel Card Using DS4J "Spring Fairy" and "Birthdays Are Stardust" Digi Stamps.  One of the best things about Digital stamps; is that you can size them to as small or as big as you need; to fit whatever you are working with.   You can also change the color of the image outline; like I did for the sentiment.  I love stamped images too; but we all need a little variety, right? I have been in the mood for shaped cards; so this is my first to make into an Easel card.  It was fun. Here is the tutorial - Easel Card.  You can find more tutorials and videos on my tabs at the top of the page.  Have fun.

Birthday Card Using CTMH Sophia Paper and Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge

Hi all of you fabulous crafters/creators/readers!  I think it is warming up across the US.  I so hope everyone is having a great Spring.  We lost an hour today when we changed to Daylight Savings.  I have been stuck inside; due to an ongoing migraine.  Nothing seems to help it.  I took most of the day off the computer on Sunday; thinking maybe it would help; but finally gave up and decided to get my post ready for Tuesday night.

You have another week to enter Digi Stamps 4 Joy  - Challenge 87 - A Birthday Sentiment.    That should be an easy one for everyone.  I decided to use DS4J Mila Picking Lavender Coloured; which is just adorable.   These are shades of pink; in case the picture appears orange.  I took 300 pictures before I finally got it right on my Iphone.  I didn't realize I had taken that many until I downloaded all of them.  LOL!  I love anything pinks/purples. I try to use other colors too; but those will always remain my favorites.

I am entering this card in the Path of Positivity Challenge - Thoughtfulness.  Be sure to check it out. Lisa has a fabulous blog and a great Design Team.  Their creations are so gorgeous!  One of the definitions on the Internet for "Thoughtfulness" - "Having or showing heed for the well-being or happiness of others and a propensity for anticipating their needs or wishes."  Isn't this one of the main reasons we create cards? We want to share our creativity and let others know we are thinking of them; whether it is a birthday, anniversary, holiday card or a Thinking Of You card.  I try to create cards that either fit the person's personality or ones that I know will bring them great joy!   My cards normally let me know who they are going to before I finish them; but this one I am not completely sure of yet.  I think it goes to one of my granddaughters; but we will see when the time is right to give it away.   I created it with a lot of love and thoughtfulness for just the right person to receive it when the time is right.

I sent my daughter and her family the Polar Bear Thinking of You Love card; my mother the blue Mother's Day card; (I didn't want to wait till Mother's Day.  I believe it can be given any day of the year.) and my sister, Alice the Thinking Of You card; which they all received and loved.  These cards made them feel very special; which they are very special to me.  They all live in MO; so I only see them once a year.  It is important that I let them know how much I love them as often as I can.  I do this with phone calls and creating cards they will love.

Don't forget to check out the monthly DS4J Christmas Card Challenge and create yours early this year.  You have till the end of the month to request the free Digi.  After you use it; you will automatically receive the next months free.  Have fun.

Gateway Easel Card Using Cricut Art Philosophy, Cricut Artiste and Clementine Paper

Hi fellow bloggers, crafters and friends.  It is a beautiful fall day in Southern CA!  Yes - Fall is finally here.  I hope this finds everyone happy and having a great day.  Please continue to remember the people on the East Coast in your thoughts and prayers as they continue to struggle with the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.  I heard there are still many people without power and/or gas.  American Red Cross is taking donations if anyone wants to help.  FYI: CTMH is donating $1 for each of the November 50% special purchases this month to American Red Cross for Hurricane Sandy.  (See special below or on the side bar.)

The challenge this week for Tammy's Scrapin Corner is Challenge #36 - Anything Goes; which starts today.  Our sponsors are: Sassy Studios and Eureka Stamps.  This is my first card as a new member of the DT.    I am so excited to be part of Tammy's team.  Our Guest Designer this week is Bettina L.  Be sure to check out her blog.

This is my first Easel card and I have combined the Gateway card with the Easel card.  Here is the  tutorial for the Gateway Easel card on Card Making Magic by Christina.   I thought it was a cute idea; so I tried it.  It wasn't hard; but it's like creating two cards.  It took me a little longer to create this one.  I hope you enjoy my creation.  Christina has a lot of really great tutorials and videos on her blog.  Be sure to check it out.

I used both the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge and the Cricut Artiste Cartridge for making this card.  I chose the paper Clementine as it is my favorite right now.  There are several designs with this paper packet.  CTMH markers are so great for coloring the small parts of an image.  They have an end that is small (not quite fine point) and a regular medium point end.  I tried coloring the bench with other markers and they were too big to fit in the small space for the little curves.
