Hi all you beautiful crafters out there!! It's really hot here in Southern CA; so I have been staying inside trying to stay cool. We had a few earthquakes here a couple days ago; which is always a frightening experience to me. I wasn't living here when they had the last big one; but seeing it on TV was enough to know I didn't want to be here when one hits. Now - I'm living here and where do you go? It isn't like a hurricane that you have advanced notice and can outrun; which I use to do when I lived in Florida. Every area has it's fear factor. We need to have faith and trust everything will work out the way it is supposed to work out.
I missed Mojo Monday last week. I don't know how I forgot it; but I did. I created a birthday card for my son; which was more difficult than I thought it would be. Trying to find that many layers of coordinating paper can be a challenge. Plus; trying to figure out what to use for sentiments to fit that person. He is a dog lover; so I went with using A Bowwow stamp set on the outside. My coloring for the dog wasn't what I wanted; but it was all I had in brown colors.
Inside card - Used retired set for the Smile sentiment. (CTMH "Wonderful You") and CTMH "4 My Friend" for Happy Birthday sentiment.

DeleteGloria, it is always such a pleasure to visit you! So happy to have seen you on MIM. Speaking of which, this card is fantastic! I love the colors, the wonderful mix of patterns, and of course the sweet dog and sentiment! Marvelous work. I'm so glad you're dealing okay with nature's fury. I too remind myself to have faith and trust when the tornadoes come. I am so thankful for heavenly protection! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for your sweet words on my blog! You can definitely make any shaped card without a Gypsy. Before I bought one, I just did it the long way: by hand! I cut out the regular shape (gift, animal, etc.) with scrap paper using my Cricut and then traced it onto the cardstock base. I then flipped it like I would have on the Gypsy, leaving a smidgen overlapped, and traced it again. Lastly, I cut it out by hand. It certainly took longer but was worth it. Alternatively, I assume you can do it in CCR if you use that. :) I hope you have a wonderful, sparkly, crafty weekend! :o)
Hugs and blessings!
