Hi fellow crafters! Unfortunately; we had 4 deaths in a row in our family in the past two months. I created 4 sympathy cards for my brother's family. I was unable to get any created for the others; so I had to send store bought cards. I don't know about anyone else; but I have a very hard time giving store bought cards to anyone since I started creating cards. Sometimes; you just have to do it even if you don't want to.
This card was for my niece. It was her mother who passed away with a sudden massive stroke at 58 yrs. old. She was a perfectly healthy woman; so it was a shock to all of us. My three children were best friends with her three children. Both of us had 2 boys and a girl. It was very sad to see her go so young.
I recently bought more embossing folders and wanted to try some of them. This one is so pretty. I embossed it on white and then colored it with my CTMH exclusive inks.

ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful card! Sympathy cards can be so tricky for me to make, but you really inspired me. I love how you mixed happy colors with hopeful images (butterfly), yet it still conveyed respect and sensitivity. Perfect balance of colors and elements and what you did with the embossing was top-notch. Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us here at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog!
